As we know, chronic health is at an all-time epidemic high and is robbing millions of people of living and aging with joy and vitality.
Plus, it’s scary to hear about other new illnesses and viruses we may have to protect against. Being healthy does not exempt us from having serious health issues. Being healthy supports our organs to support our body to help prevent illnesses and recover and heal if we do have to deal with an illness.
This is especially true for those of us who are aging. Speaking for myself, as I just turned 60, having vitality for my whole life is a top priority and desire. It’s heartbreaking to see people losing their last years of life to cancer and other debilitating illnesses.
As someone who has suffered an undiagnosed serious chronic health issue, thyroid failure, as an elementary-age child, I know the pain of losing an aspect of my life to a health issue I had no control over. It was devastating and impacted every aspect of my life and athletic ability. I can also talk about the joy on the other side of it after receiving a diagnosis at the University of Michigan and treatment. The joy of being able to run down the road without pain was beyond amazing. I remember crying in gratitude because my body didn’t hurt anymore.
Organ health is crucial to a happy, healthy, and long life.
With the evolution of food over the last decade, it’s much easier to get good fats in your diet. If you are a plant-based eater, there is no shortage of options, including cacao, nuts, seeds, and the famous avocado.
